I founded Psychotherapy With Emma IN 2026 with a goal:
to provide care that is both clinically excellent and genuinely human.
My work is informed by more than a decade of experience across diverse clinical settings, where I have had the privilege of working with people of all ages and a range of concerns. While every person's story and circumstances are unique, I have found that meaningful change is consistently rooted in genuine human connection, collaboration, and trust.
My approach combines current, evidence-based practices with a down-to-earth, collaborative style. As both a clinician and educator, I stay closely connected to the latest research and best practices, but I believe expertise is most valuable when it can be translated into care that feels approachable, authentic, and practical. My role isn't to tell you who you are or what to do. It's to bring knowledge, perspective, and support while helping you build on the expertise you already have about your own life.
I founded this practice after years of witnessing a fundamental challenge within healthcare: the tension between providing meaningful, high-quality care and the demands of high-volume systems. Too often, therapists are expected to carry large caseloads, leaving less time for the thoughtful attention, preparation, and clinical reflection that effective therapy requires.
By intentionally maintaining a small caseload, I am able to prioritize quality over quantity. This allows me to be fully present with each patient, tailor treatment to their individual needs, and provide a level of accessibility and continuity that is often difficult to find in traditional settings. It also creates the space to think carefully about each person's treatment rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
I also recognize that therapy does not occur in isolation. Mental health care often intersects with medical providers, schools, workplaces, family systems, and a broader healthcare landscape that can feel overwhelming to navigate. Part of my role is helping patients make sense of these systems, understand their options, access appropriate resources, and advocate for the care and support they need.
My goal is to provide care that is thoughtful, collaborative, and deeply personalized, creating a therapeutic relationship where patients feel genuinely understood, supported, and empowered throughout their journey as we work together toward meaningful and lasting change.
